Official Government Site for Genealogical Research: A very useful site. The Scottish birth, marriage and death registrations are available online as are census returns. It does cost a fair bit of money, the system of charging is a bit odd (get your credit cards out), but you can do a lot of research without having to visit New Register House in Edinburgh.
